Adding new chat tag via API

    Hi Aleksey. I found this out myself earlier last summer. Tags in Zendesk Chat behave differently than in Zendesk Support. They have to be predefined.

    Thanks Bryan. But is there any possibility to add tags to this predefined list via API?

    Just saw this Aleksey -- was out and missed it.

    There is no API to directly add or delete predefined tags to a Chat account. A workaround that some have tried is to edit a Shortcut via the API and add a tag to it. That tag becomes part of the list of predefined tags. Not pretty but should work!
