    Hi Gabriel,

Currently we do not have true authentication in the Chat SDKs, though it is on our feature roadmap.

If a user is identified with an email address at some point in the chat (either manually in the pre-chat form, automatically passed in, or manually set on the agent end) it will be associated with the user with that email address in Support.

    Hi Gabriel,

The Chat SDK doesn't have the same concept of user identities as the Support SDK, and is purely based on the details given for the visitor info (name, email, etc.). The Support product is a more appropriate choice if you wish to use stronger authentication like JWT.

    Andrew/Dan,

    Thanks for clarifying this!

    Hi,

Just wondering if there is there an update to this? Or is it still not possible to use JWT Authentication with the Chat SDK.

    Thanks.

Hi Sophia Liu! At this time, there are still no options to do this in v1 of the Chat SDK. I scoured the docs for v2 and I don't believe that it is available there either, but I will double check to confirm and then I'll let you know!

Apologies for the delay in my response here. It looks like this is not on the roadmap for Chat v2 either. I have made the team aware of your request so that they can potentially explore this in the future.
