    Hello,

    Glad to see that you're working on the Mobile SDK integration.

    • "Ending a chat on a visitor’s behalf with a callback: As an integrator, you now have more control over the chat session lifecycle, a major request from previous versions of the Chat SDKs."

    Does that mean that the chats won't drop after 5minutes of inactivity on customer or agent side?

    Yes! We completely overhauled the way the SDKs deal with sessions, so this problem wouldn't happen anymore!

    Hi Max,

    I have other questions regarding this new chat SDK release:

    • will we be able to send push notifications to customers on app when we reply to them?
    • will the satisfaction survey be customisable

    I remember these were blockers for us.

    Answering your questions:

    Will we be able to send push notifications to customers on app when we reply to them?

    Yes. This is already possible in the current version too. We're also working on pushes for multiple apps and sandbox capabilities for iOS.

    Will the satisfaction survey be customisable?

    Initially, the feature will be implemented as it is today, to achieve feature parity with our current SDK. But the new version already sets the framework to allow several types of satisfaction surveys.

    For the first version, we're aiming into bringing feature parity with the current version of the Chat SDK. The JWT authentication is in our roadmap and is one of the features that we're planning to implement right after.

    Hi Max,

    We want to show a link within our app to live chat if agents are available, and hide the link if not. There's no current endpoint that allows us to query if chat agents are available (or not) without opening a session and attempting to start a chat. Will this functionality be possible with the new SDK?

    David,

    Both are on our roadmap. For XCFrameworks, we've been waiting for Apple to bring module stability to a stable release, which might be happening soon. As soon as they release it, we'll start releasing new versions supporting it too.

    Noah,

    In the new SDK we're introducing a new way of checking department and account status (between online, away and offline - which are based on agent statuses). You'll be able to use those to toggle the Chat availability, if that's your use case!
