Hi Dru. This is not a current feature but has been requested before. There have been discussions about how to better manage over fetches/under fetches. The relatively new Chat Conversations API took the approach of using GraphQL in part to accommodate this.

I moved this post to the "Feature Requests" area, so it could get more exposure internally and maybe additional comments and up-votes externally.

Good to hear that this is being considered, and that GraphQL is already in use, that sounds promising, thank you, Bryan

Did this request ever get any attention? I'm using JS to display a section page that lists all articles without pagination—I have it working well, but getting the 'body' of every single article when I really just need 'title' and 'html_url' is eating up a lot of unnecessary bandwidth and time. Thanks!

Hi Ashleigh, I haven't seen any updates on this, but I reached out to that team to see what their thoughts are. As soon as I hear back from them, I'll drop you an update!
